To set up a domain name, you need to do two things. First, you need to purchase a domain name from a domain name registrar. Second, you need to set up DNS records for your domain by using a DNS hosting service.
If you want to use SimpleCloudHosting to manage the DNS of an existing domain, you have two options:
- 1. Keep the domain registration at your current registrar and transfer the DNS management to us.
- 2. To use SimpleCloudHosting to host your DNS for a domain, follow these instructions to point your domain to our name servers.
We have integrated DigitalOcean DNS Hosting into our control panel for easy use. DigitalOcean is not a domain name registrar, but does provide a DNS hosting service. When you manage your infrastructure on your control, you may find it more convenient to manage your domains here as well. DigitalOcean’s DNS tools allow you to manage your servers and DNS in the same place. These resources are integrated into the interface so they can be located more easily. You can also manage non-DigitalOcean resources using DigitalOcean DNS.
