Name server propagation delay

If you recently pointed the domain to DNSimple and the domain still isn’t resolving, remember it may take up to 24 hours for a name server change to propagate.

You can use this online tools to check the propagation status around the world:

https://dnschecker.org/

https://www.whatsmydns.net/

https://dnsmap.io/

You can check if the update was successful by inspecting the WHOIS response for the domain.

The WHOIS response usually updates within a few minutes.

If after 24 hours the domain still isn’t resolving, make sure the update was successfully confirmed by your current domain registrar, and see the other sections in this page.

Check that the domain is using the DigitalOcean nameservers shown in the control panel on DNS tab

Ensure the domain is using DigitalOcean nameservers.

Enter the following nameservers to your domain at your Domain Registrar:
ns1.digitalocean.com
ns2.digitalocean.com
ns3.digitalocean.com

If not, update the name server to point to DigitalOcean nameservers.

Ensure the DS record is removed

If you switched DNS providers and had DNSSEC enabled, you must remove the previous DS record first.
